Kickstart Scheme
Kickstart Scheme is an initiative set up by the UK government that helps ambitious businesses like Pursuit to do some good in the world. The Kickstart Scheme helps to create new job placements for 16-24-year-olds who are currently on Universal Credit and who are at risk of long-term unemployment.
It offers young people access to six months of paid employment. And they have the opportunity, with Pursuit, to get valuable experience in Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, or Data Management.
Pursuit currently has 89 kickstarts placements and 52 positions have been filled already.
There are lots of companies across the UK participating in this scheme but there are a few things Pursuit is doing differently.
Pursuit Marketing is a Real Living Wage employer - this means we are doubling the earnings of young Kickstart recruits by paying them all the £9.50 per hour “adult” real living wage, irrespective of age.
We are offering extensive and comprehensive employability support and training so if our Kickstarts decide not to stay with us after six months they have a clear direction of where they want to go and the skills to make that happen.
The goal here is to make a difference to our local community and give folk a real chance to start a career for a progressive organisation that will value them and looks after them.
Kickstart criteria:
• age 16- 24
• currently unemployed
• on Universal Credit
